Small tree, Big wall

Yesterday, I talked about my visit to Vizcaya Museum and Gardens over the weekend. So, today I will only emphasize about why I took this particular photo. First, it was in black and white since the moment I pressed the shutter. I was using my Panasonic LX5, which I have mentioned on this blog before, and I had it setup for JPGs in black and white with a few custom settings tweaked for my taste. Full maximum quality JPEGs that is.
While I was touring the gardens, almost walking away from this scene, I turned back and the small tree called my attention. A second later I realized I had the perfect background. The wall makes the tree smaller than what it really is and the tree makes the wall behind much larger than what it really is plus the texture on the wall shouted for black and white. I framed and captured it in a way, that although we don't have another object on the left, it feels balanced. And now, seen the picture on a larger display, I can't really tell what is the main subject. Is it the wall and its strong character or is it the tree and its humbleness? I will leave it to the night.
